can anyone tell me what this plant/ flower is.:gaah::please:

image.jpeg This one's, the flower is yellow, really tall stem with a flower head that's similar in look to a gladiolus kind off, but has a round small ball looking thing that the flower blooms from and you get about 8 plus flowers on each stem.

image.jpeg And the same as above but the flowers are red.

But the bulb is massive and sprouts loads of new stems.

I agree also. The first is a Canna the second, I think, is a Tropicanna.

They are Canna. Sadly the Tropicana is heavily virused so as such the other one (which is starting to show symptoms) is as well. Sorry, but you need to bin them, at the end of the season if you choose.

They look fine to me. The mottling is part of the colouring.

There are several leaves visible. On the burgundy one (probably Tropicana Phasion) the virus is evidenced by the green/yellow streaks and in particular by the discolouring on the edge of the leaf in the centre of the photo.
The green one is less obvious (perhaps the resident experts @pete , @strongylodon , @JWK or @joolz68 will have a better idea) but to my eyes the leaf on the top right is showing signs.

Here are a couple of pages from those who really know about Canna that may be of use..................

I am not sure, I would need a closer look at the leaves to be convinced of virus.

I grew both of those years ago and they always looked like they were virused.
Only in those days I didn't know canna virus existed.

One reason I dont grow them now.;) its difficult to tell with them two.

A virused plant grows very slowly and often never flowers, that's how I remember it.
So if it has streaks but is growing really well, I'd give it a second chance.
