Please could someone suggest a lovely, colourful, very quick growning plant, that will cover a very ugly looking wall..it does get the sun around afternoon time..I need something that clings to the wall rather than have trellis......and maybe one that is evergreen...so I am not left looking at this wall in the Winter...many thanks ..

Akebia quinata - Chocolate vine. Grows like made and climbs anything! Climbing Hydrangea - petiolaris - is always a good bet. Although deciduous it leaves an attractive framework in the winter with papery flowers clinging on for a long time. And it's very happy on a north facing wall. Ours has to be cut back as it climbs over the the (single-storey) roof.

I had a climbing Hydrangea on a north faving wall. It took years to be any decent size.
