There's a movement afoot to discourage people form using the word curry to describe Indian food. They're saying it is racist. :rolleyespink:

We seem to be coming into a Curry PC World :roflol:

I much prefer to go for a curry than for an english!

Haha, I remember that: "Give me the blandest thing on the menu!". Very clever. :) Yeah, that 'movement' is probably just two dozen Far-Left crackpots on Twitter, it almost always is.

I have a lot of Indian/Bangladeshi friends and all of them have said that they think the "stupid woman blogger" (quote from one of them) is an idiot that has nothing better to do with her time than stir things. :noidea:

Typically the case, isn't it? Never representative of the community they claim to/assume they represent, but such people are usually so arrogant that they won't even ask the rest of their ethnic community for their opinion! :frown:

IME the people of every race and religion I've met hate their troublemakers, but the moderates are never exciting enough to be featured in the media. :dunno:

                    Stop making idiots famous!

It is exactly this kind of media reaction.... Blowing up a non-story about some single idiot sitting at home spewing nonsense until people think there is a "real problem" and millions of people are behind it.

                      Curry

There, I just used the disallowed word. Thought for a minute our profanity filter had been changed.

If we didn't make fun of it then people may think it was serious.

It's already in our newspapers and on the radio so we might as well take the pee out of them.

I'm happy eating curry a few times a week. :)

Currys have come a long way since those Vesta packets that were around in the 1960s. They weren't allowed in our house, I can't say on here what my Dad thought of foreign food. The closest we got to exotic food was spaghetti hoops.

Just had a flashback of eating a beef one in the 80s when I read that! They're what my Nan used to cook on Saturdays which was her only "ready meal day", a break from cooking more complicated stuff.

I remember Vesta meals. We thought they were okay at the time lol, but since 'asian highly aromatic food' became common place (notice i avoided the 'c' word) we've been really treated.
                              I love the stuff.
