Nice plant, I think it is one of several newish cultivars, I have a couple of the original variegated type from cuttings Marley sent me years ago, very slow growing.

Now that is a little corker! And, you are right, far more interesting than the run of the mill "Money Plant" :dbgrtmb:

I forgot to say that the Ctenanthe is massive. The leaf on the left pointing downwards is 22" long.
All together it is just under 5' high.

And.... it's now growing new shoots on some of the higher leaves.
              I've never seen this before.

Wow that looks really good........... have you had any fruit yet or is it still too young. I will have to have a look on the internet to see how big they grow etc. etc. etc.

It's only about six months old.
I think they have to be proper trees before they fruit and bloom and I think they have to have high temperatures etc.
Usually they're just grown as foliage houseplants in the UK, the leaves are beautiful they have a bronzy/red sheen to them.

                  Hi Apple Blossom,

Check them out on the internettywebby thingy. You may be able to grow them if you have a greenhouse, I'm not sure.

That Beaucarnea is a beut, Anthony. Its pretty big. I have a tiny one, a fraction o0f that size.

Pete showed a lovely one that he said is 25 years old. So I have got a long wait.

                        Hi Peter,

Thanks, yeah I remember seeing Petes ( grown from seed as I recall ), I think we've got about another 10 yrs to go yet to get to his age and size.

Thse all look great, a nice variety too.

I have a money plant, my wife is very dedicated to making sure it stays in the most SE part of the house, brings financial luck apparently. Weirdly, it does seem to work too! A great housewarming gift I find, and great feng shui or so I am told.

                          Jeff
