Hello, I have two Hazel type of trees in out garden one has smallish nuts, the other crops very well with large ones and is favorite as such. But the other one has done something to be noticed this year. Eleven in one cluster we have had the odd eight but this is our record.
The photo is slightly untrue as I damped the husk to stop it from drying out completely and all the nuts have been re inserted afterwards. The photo is not altered in any way.

You are referring to my favourite food Zigs :) ... which is why Mrs K has named the area where we have the espalier fruit, and the nut trees, as the "Fruit and Nut garden" :)

Growing the cocoa is a bit more challenging ... :heehee:

Very fond of nuts (and chocolate) here, 2 nutcrackers in the garden they are well used by my mob. I have sprayed the whole cluster thing with PVA glue. This will dry almost transparent a hopefully it will remain good condition and hold it together. Polythene under the one tree at this moment to catch the remaining big nuts. It always crops well as it overhangs the compost heaps and prob gets plenty of food roots underneath and so on.
