Mrs scrungee put an engineering brick, not a small modern one, but a damn great old Victorian one weighing 8.5 lbs on top of the dustbin containing the hen's food (to keep rats out), supposed to be always on the back of the lid, but the very first time (so she said) that it was put on the front of the sloping lid, and it fell onto my big toe as I was bringing firewood indoors whilst wearing only my slippers just before dawn. And my toe was so swollen that when I next went out for a walk all the skin on top of it got rubbed off.

Finding Ibuprofen reduced to half price at Tesco was no consolation, having a vast stockpile of homebrew was.

A good topical application for bruises is Arnica Gel, my wife buys pints of it.

How much do you need to drink compared to homebrew?

It's so easy to do, Vince.:wallbanging::dunno: You only have to be pressing against something at an awkward angle and you can bruise, crack a rib or pull a muscle. Don't breathe in too hard and get well soon!!:snorky:

Much sympathy:grphg:. I broke 2 ribs falling over on my kitchen floor years ago would you believe. The joys of having Georgian flag stones as a kitchen floor. I had to go to work on a bus travelling on cobbled streets, hell on earth for weeks and nothing the medics could do other than issue pain killers. Take care and DON'T COUGH!
