OK Sauce Chinese Meal

At a Chinese , when you see a dish cooked in OK sauce , is this the OK brown sauce we used to buy ? Can't recall seeing OK sauce in years , but a web search seems to show this is what is used in some Chinese dishes .

 

That's new to me, never seen a menu saying OK sauce but in answer to your second question, I have seen OK sauce still on sale. I think there are common ingredients in most brown sauces; OK, HP, Daddies etc and that it's the proportions which differ.

I'm interested to hear more & hope someone knows.

 

ok sauce from our chinese chippy is lush! it has veg in it and is a bit like bbq sauce but different cant explain it but i would recommend you try it on your chips

 

@HarryS you can just ask for a tub of ok sauce on its own

 

They do chicken in OK sauce and beef in OK sauce. They don't offer it as an extra portion though. Must try it sometime

Next time im going to our Chinese Supermarket in Manchester I'll have a look for you. Its called Wing Yip its in the Ardwick area near Man City ground, its worth a visit

 

@HarryS ok sauce is in some dishes at ours but not advertised on its own but you can ask for a tub they give it to you in a tub they use for gravy or curry
