I bought a two metres tall olive five years ago. It is on a south facing terrace that gets very warm when the sun is out. It is surviving but doesn't look like it is thriving. The ends of the branches are loosing their leaves and don't regrow them. What should I do?

I can't really answer that. I have two 1 metre olives, almost totally neglected in our back garden and they fruit every year!

Is it in a pot or planted in the ground?

My olive tree is in a big pot by the tunnel and south facing and is covered in fruits every year. Don’t like the fruits on it but the birds seem to.!

It is covered in flowers at present.! it is totally ignored to be honest.. Hence the strawberries that have climbed in there... @Berberis Artista Like I said yesterday, you cannot display Imgur photos on here as the links are not compatible with GC..
