Red Baron seeds are sown in cells and popped in the heated propagator, we are busy on Boxing Day, which is when I used to sow them.

I dont usually start onions until mid Jan or early Feb, but then I only want normal sized ones.

      I assume you have lights @burnie ?

Sown Kelsae, giant onions, yesterday in a pot in the boiler room.

Once germinated they will go under lights in a cooler unheated room.

Very impressive, I'm waiting until February for normal onions!

Zebrune, White Star and Karminka are what I'm going this year

I've got some walla walla seeds this year, has anyone tried them in the past?

Yes once or twice, they are a sweet onion so don't keep that well and best used fresh. They can reach a fair size too.

Sowed my Zebrune onions yesterday, in the propagator in the greenhouse now set around 20c.
I'll sow the walla walla in a couple of weeks, I dont really want them too big and mostly experimental anyway.

Germination is not as good as previous years, second sowing gone in.
