I went for a walk around here a few days ago, it wasn't a bad day. These are some photos taken from the hill above the village.
First you have to walk up through the trees before you can see any views ...

It's only a short walk but it's up hill so I was out of puff :heehee: but the views are quite nice ...

I came back via the riverside walk but I'll show those photos another day

A nice view over the house tops. :) There's a lot of lichen on trees here, even the trunks are covered in it.

Thank you @Victoria, It looks more peaceful than it is though, the 21st Century has seen to that.

Thank you @Sheal, it's nice to see lichen, I believe it's a sign of clean air.

It's so dark and dreary at this time of year I don't know when I'll be going for another walk. Maybe if we get a really nice day in a week or two I might go somewhere

Lovely photos Michael, you are so lucky to live near such beautiful countryside. Fingers crossed that you get some brighter days soon.

I used to find I didn't like walking on dreary days in the winter, but back when I had a dog it was a necessity.

So I'd force myself, within 5 minutes of starting to walk somewhere nice I found it didn't bother me that it was dreary and usually I'd end up walking a lot further than intended. Often be out for a couple of hours when just a 10min walk was the intention at the start.

                        Thank you all ...

@pete I don't mind rain or cloudy weather, I quite enjoy rain actually, but it gets dark so early since they turned the clocks back and I can't see well in low light. It is therefore a rush to get home before it becomes too dark for me, especially on a dull day.
I suppose I could go in the morning but I am very slow in the mornings even though I get up early
