Moved into a new house to find the water butt has been connected to a fall pipe with no drain under it. It fills, it overflows. The previous owner apparently connected a hose pipe to the tap on the butt but I can't see how he did it.

Any idea how he did it? It's raining cats and dogs and there's water everywhere.

Hi @Max Brun and welcome. It would help if you could show a photo of the tap as there are different possible connections that they could have used. If you are in a big hurry, get one of these rubber ends with a jubilee clip and a screw device, so that you can push it over the tap and then tighten it up. Then a standard hose joiner will attach to it.
