Peat free ericaceous compost?

Does anyone know where I can buy some of this that doesn't break the bank? Nowhere local that I know of stocks it and the online ones I can find are very expensive (understandably given postage costs on something so heavy.)

If not, is there something peat free I can use instead (for pieris and hydrangea)

Hi if growing in pots I use John inns soil based , I know I know what people are going to say but , any lime in the soil gets washed out very quickly with watering and feeding , and causes no harm to the plant , I read this in "Which gardening magazine " years ago and have tried it out myself several times and no plant came to any harm.
