Some weeks ago I had a perrenial sweet pea ID'd. Once again I've forgotten the name of it. Senior brain letting me down again.

Anyway, last year I collected seeds from it and now want to get them going. Can anyone tell me please will they come true to the parent plant or will I have to take cuttings. :)

    Hi Sheal
I think the perennial sweet pea you are talking of is Lathyrus latifolius but there are other more unusual perennial ones as well..I believe they can come true but not 100%. I have many seedlings popping up from my plant but have never grown any on ..However the one I have is about 12 yrs old and I collected the seed, and it was true to plant I got it from .
    Hope this helps ..

    Dave

Thanks Dave, yes it is Lathyrus latifolius and I'll give the seeds a go and see what happens. :dbgrtmb:

Another thought here Sheal.....Plant the seeds in small pots or cells as they don't like there roots being disturbed, then you could pot on or plant out with little or no disturbance..
