Pittosporum Nana - is it self-seeding?

Hi all,

I posted late last summer, wanting advice on growing a shrub in my front garden. I had some great advice and bought a Pittosporum Nana, placed in a central plot, surrounded by a little soil and slate chipping. It looked great, but unfortunately we now have widespread growth of a weed/seedlings? all around. Are these seedlings? How can I get rid of them without killing my gorgeous Pittosporum? Any help would be greatly appreciated; thank you.

 

The little weeds look like one of the speedwells. Fortunately, they are very shallow-rooting, and easy to pull up. Just take hold of them where they emerge from the soil, or slate shingle, and pull up or to the side. All the roots will come up, and job done!
