I know very little of growing most fruits and would like to expand my knowledge. I have two books for example that talk about blueberries but both don't really have the kind of knowledge that I want, I want more in-depth information. This goes further than just blueberries. Thank you.

The Expert Books are said to be very good. When I started I got the RHS Encylopedia of Practical Gardening or at least several sections of it as it was published in separate parts, Vegetables, Fruit etc. If you can find this (second hand) I would recommend them; also very good has been Vegetable Herbs and Fruit (ISBN 1-85626-671-0)

Thank you for the reply. If possible could you name the authors, please? I search for the first one that you mentioned but I was getting mixed results with books being authored by different people. Much appreciated.

The Hessayon series of small booklets is a classic way of getting going. They're recognised as the best way to get started with all branches of gardening. I still have some first editions (1959) and he's the biggest selling author of gardening books by a very long way.

Also a huge thank you, to you too. Found some and added them to my list, they look excellent.

I'd third the Hessayon books, they might be a bit dated but the info is brilliant. You can pick them up on ebay for around £2.

Charles Dowding No Dig (although I do dig his info is great)

For preserving, jams etc.. Abundance by Alice Fowler

and I think it was called The Secret Gardener by Anna Pavford, more about flowers though.
