Can anyone identify this plant for me? It’s leaves are identical to a cosmos I have but the “flowers” are bulbas and green and not like any cosmos I’ve seen before though I’m very new to gardening.

I’ve gried to search online but nothing seems to match it. The closest I’ve come is a chrysanthemum? Maybe?

@Silver surfer the one you need for this one. Boogered if I know, but I agree that it's something along the lines of Chrysanthemum.

Hello @Catherine Hanley :sign0016: to GC and lovely to have you with us.

It looks like a "Cotula Leptinella" after checking the names @Tetters as mentioned....learning my friends from your knowledge ;)

              Interesting. Thinking hard.
              Reckon it is in Asteraceae.
Do the flowers have petals that have dropped of or are there no petals?
Catherine bottom left in your pic ..is that a new flower in bud ..or a seed pod about to open like a dandelion does? Right pic.

At top there seems to be a new flower forming...please can you watch it closely and add new pics of a newly opened flower. Left pic.
              Thanks.

Oh wow you guys are fantastic

So I think silver surfer is correct about it being asteraceae.

There don’t seem to be any petals or seed heads. I think the picture showed a large flower which I dead headed ‘dead headed’ in an attempt to see if another one would grow and do anything else. Then there was also new flowers appearing, like this ...

It just seems like it should do something more? I was expecting petals that never came and was unsure if it wasn’t flourishing as it should, though it does seem to be growing well and producing lots of heads

ps: thank you all for being so welcoming.

                  NEWBIE GARDENER ALERT!

I’d love it to turn out to be a cotula but it’s been hanging around for months with no sign of petals (or colourful ones anyway). I think this might be it (it can hear my disappointment can’t it!!)

                    Excellent clear new pics thanks.
I am still struggling to understand exactly what I am seeing...Green Petals? Or green bracts?

Am I seeing the flower gone to seed...or a flower bud.
See this example of what I mean.

Eclipta alba ( False Daisy, yerba de tago, and bhringraj)
Left is flower...right is same plant .... gone to seed.

Do please continue to watch it.

Sorry silver surfer I’m probably not explaining myself correctly.

I think what’s shown in my pic is the flower bud. It hasn’t gone to seed. I wasn’t sure what bracts were so I’ve googled (I’m learning!) and it has green bracts and green petals.

I’ll give the latest buds a little more time to grow then post again. Thank you! X

I don`t think it`s always petals that are important. Just the foliage on your plant is delicate and pretty - imagine a big patch of that with other plants mingled in..... you`ll have to get all artistic Catherine. upload_2018-7-26_8-25-44.jpeg ............;)
