I bought sweetpea seeds mixed, and they look nothing like sweetpeas as I know them a bit like pea plants, these are more like ferns, So either all the little black balls I planted have rotted and these identical weeds have taken their place ?

Yeah but this morning that Budleiha was a "Bush" :-)

I looked on the weed id and I came up with "bush vetch" why and where ?

So I just destroy then? They are not some exotic sweetpea :-)

We've got vetches growing here in the countryside Jack, you could say it's a wild form of the garden sweet pea and is perennial. It has blue/purple flowers. :)

      What happened to the Buddleia?

      STOP!

There ARE Sweetpeas in that pot, just they are swamped by the weeds.

          Well spotted Kristen.
Who sold you those seeds, Mr Crummockgnashing? I think you got what's known as a pig in a poke. As do we all when we buy seeds and I think something should be done about it!

Hi Jack , where did you get the wild sweet pea from?
can it be that you got the seeds out of some F1?
they are wild sweet pea , back in Italy they used to grow every where and actually edible.

Jack, where did you buy those 'sweet pea' seeds from (and were they all the same size)? Vetch seeds are smaller than sweet pea seeds - I think there's some of both in my seed collection as my daughter's guinea pigs (RIP) liked vetch and I saved some seeds. Off to check my seed collection - I may be some time.

EDIT: I've chucked them out, together with my plantain seeds as we don't bother with either for GP food any more, but from recollection the seeds are much smaller than those from sweet peas, and in thin black pods.
