    Welcome to the forums Dawn.

Would like to see the flower looking into the flower.
Very odd to see it from the top.

I believe it is Nerine sp.
    Nerine bowdenii?

Thank you for the welcome, I thought it was from the Allium family.

Hi Dawn, definitely Nerine as said by our forum expert! But a nice pale one - they are usually Barbie pink - maybe the variety Nikita? Need to see it face on as Silver surfer says in order to get more idea of the variety.
They like hot conditions, so don't worry if the bulb gets near the surface - just try to avoid shade.

Oh yes! It looked very different from above! And it's obviously taller than a nerine would be. It's quite narrow mouthed though - my crinum is quite flared. Wonder if it's some specific cultivar?

Don't know if this helps but the leaves are very tall, and they were out weeks before the flower came out, really do appreciate all the help from both of you

        Hi Dawn
        :sign0016:

I'd say it was either an Amaryllis Belladonna ( not to be confused with Hippeastrum, which are the bulbs forced and sold around Christmas wrongly labelled as Amaryllis ) or it could be one of the new crosses between Amaryllis and Crinum .
