    Hi!
I have a kind neighbour who gave me these potted plants yesterday, my husband brought them home and he remembered a few of their names, but other than a fern (not pictured), I've forgotten! If you recognise any, I'd love to know what they are as I'm hoping to put them in my garden if they're suitable. Knowing what they are, I can decide where to put them.

    Thank you for any help!

How very kind of your neighbour to give you some lovely young plants to enjoy.

I think F might be a geranium but I'm not 100% convinced because it does look like there may be something else in the pot with it?

If we don't manage to ID them all for you, maybe you could ask your neighbour and then you could make some labels for them? I'm sure your neighbour would love to talk to you about them and where to put them. It would be such a pity to waste an opportunity to chat with them about these plants.

Looking forward to getting to know you around the forums.

              Hi...welcome to GC. :sign0016:

I think your photo D may be Cerinthe. I've just been finding some space for one in my garden and it looks the same. :)

Thank you for the kind welcomes!

I'm not 100% what to do with most of the plants. I am currently digging out a border, and I hadn't planned to put in any plants just yet. My lawn and it's current edges are in bad condition, I was going to dig out the border and keep it maintained and keep the weeds at bay before planting anything. I have made the mistake before of taking up weeds, putting plants in and them getting suffocated by the persistent weeds coming back up! I dread putting these plants straight in just for them to die!

                      Hello MoonBasket, :sign0016:
It sounds very sensible to want to plant in clean soil. Would you be able to pot on the plants for now? If you've got a shady corner where you could keep them, perhaps standing the pots on a gravel tray, then you could plant in September when you're sure that you've eradicated the weeds. Most perennials put down strong new roots in August and September. It would be a good chance to 'quarantine' them, too. You never know what extras might be coming in with the gifts!

Thank you Noisette, I didn't know that about Aug & Sept! My border is half dug now and the soil is so messy, I'd be silly to plant them straight into it. I've dug up as many nasty rubbish weed roots and random bits of crockery as I can, and now I'll try and look after the soil for a while before planting anything.

I do have a shady corner to keep the plants for now, I'm curious what they do. I've also been given a large clump of hard soil with some sort of plant, some grass and a massive dandelion in it, hahah, I think you are right about keeping them in quarantine for a while yet!!

Today I moved my new plants into new pots as some were broken, and almost all of them had weeds growing in them. I separated the ones that had multiple plants in, but honestly I don't know if any of those that I replanted happen to be weeds!

I took better pictures (and even blew them up @wiseowl !). It might make it a little easier to see the ones that were previously difficult to identify. :blue thumb:

Thanks again for any help, I'll have a read on info on all of the previous suggestions!
