I just cleaned my 5 chickens out and one of them is injured and ill. She had blood on her leg, it seems a scale is missing from her leg (fighting?) and whilst I was treating that, I noticed her bum's a bit bare (not red, and the feathers are growing back, so maybe a moult?).

I dusted her for red mite, along with the coop and other chooks, though they show no signs of them. She's sitting about feeling sorry for herself and after she was on her back being dusted, she had some slightly yellow liquid drip from her nose and beak. She seems to have the runs, too (dirty vent).

Is she suffering from a cold/virus? Has she been laid low by a bad moult (not seen any feathers about)? Can anyone offer me any advice please? :help: I have put some poultry spice on their food to see if that helps.

she's perked up a bit and is staying out to feed, which is an improvement :)

thanks for that. i already checked up the leg, nothing there. it seems to be ok now anyway. there doesnt seem to be anything coming from her nose/beak now, and we dont have anywhere to keep her seperately (hubby keeps promising a new run......) unfortunately. all the other hens are fine.
i will see if i can get some auromycin, thanks
