    Hi all,

Gardening novice here.. these are the first clematis plants I’ve had, I bought them at a reduced price from my local garden centre (I guess because they look abit rundown!).. I thought I’d bring them home anyway and see what happens. I’ve read a lot about clematis wilt and I decided to repot then and I got rid of most of the old soil they were sitting in. The roots looked healthy as far as I could tell and both plants seem to be producing healthy looking leaves at the top so I don’t know!? What do you think? Will they be ok? I read a few other forums where people had said they’re clematis’ also had leaves like this and still thrived and flowered??

I think it’s a lack of water Julysunshine.....it’s been hot and dry so transpiration has taken its toll esp with under developed rights right now. More moisture evaporating than taken in.
Yes I think they will be fine next year. You didn’t need to replace the soil, not a disease I think, but repotting and a little feed will be good :)

Thank you for your reply, fingers crossed your right and the heat is to blame, it’s been extremely hot here recently.

Hopefully a little bit TLC will do them some good

      Xx
