    Hey all,

    I currently have a 4 tier "pop up" greenhouse/growhouse which I love.
I've been looking at buying a walk in style one but not found good reviews.

Does anyone have one like this and is it any good? Or can recommend one please?

There not very good TBH, have you considered a second hand proper one, they can be picked up cheap/free.

I bought a blowaway :-) last year, I wanted to build a lean to but ran out of time, so hopefully this summer.
Anyhow having used the walk in for around 9 months I find it not very good.
It rattles about in the wind and because it is on slabs the flaps always come loose in high wind, despite being weighed down with bricks. The door is a nuisance to zip up and down and the ventilation is hopeless, even with the door open.
As a short term measure they can serve purpose but not ideal.

Thanks for the reviews. Vet much appreciate it :)
I think I might just invest in a second tiered one.

Agree with Martin, if you have the space and some helping hands, getting a s/h free or almost free greenhouse can take your gardening to another level of enjoyment and for most of the year round.

I've had a couple of these and been quite pleased with them - as you know they're very cheap compared to a new 'real' greenhouse - but they do the job.

Picked up a Wilkinsons walk in pop up greenhouse last year - it's great for growing veg.

I've now got a 'real' greenhouse - had it a couple of years - it cost around £200.

Is it £180 quid better than my £20 pop up greenhouse? No, not really.

The point is, a pop up will stop bugs entering and provide protection from wind/rain. If you use it to propagate or grow food - I'd go for the pop up version :blue thumb:.

I bought mine used from eBay in 2015 £50 from memory, I made two trips in a Peugeot 206 to collect it,

                This was it before collection

I installed it in march 2015

Given it a coat of paint

Until a few weeks ago it was used as a shed,

Recently I cleared it out and installed a new floor, GH is now in use and ive got some plants in,

I'm enjoying my time pottering about in there.

                  Hi,

Looks very neat and tidy, though the first time I have heard of anyone painting an existing alum frame.

Can I ask what paint /primer etc you used ?

Hi Rick thank you, i used wickes brand paint no need for primer, I only painted the outside, gave it a good wire brush down and painted it,

I think the paint used was darker than this

I would love an actual greenhouse but I don't have the space in the garden sadly :(

I've always started veg from seed on my living room windowsill then transferred to the pop up greenhouse until the seedlings are big enough for outdoors.... then the slugs etc eat everything

My green beans are doing well in the greenhouse at present! Tomato plants are flowering. My pepper plant is flowering :blue thumb:
Aubergine plants are growing well at present.

All of these are in the greenhouse but there's no space and the tomatoes will need more height space asap.

Plus my living room windowsill is, ummm..... let's just say a second pop up would be very handy :snork::snork::snork::snork:

I had two blowaways, and in the end bit the bullet and bought my Eden greenhouse - cost me over £800 (full safety glass added a bit to the price), but I remain delighted with it. If you can accommodate a greenhouse, I personally would say that you are much better off to get one.

I've got to change my glass, one of the main reasons ive got the GH is to try and get the grandkid's interested, every time they go near it I'm a bag of nerves, its not so bad when only one grandchild's around, but the other day I had all three to contend with,

Any recommendation's on what to buy please, I was looking at the plastic sheets are they ok.

If you can afford it Martin, go for safety glass - it is remarkably resistant to knocks and bangs from balls etc. I have only had one pane go in the five or so years I have had the greenhouse, and I think that was due to thermal shock to flawed glass. Even when it did go, it lived up to its name and broke into tiny wee granules.

Polycarbonate is OK, and the double walled stuff can help with insulation - but, it seems quite common for the polycarbonate sheets to blow out when things get windy, and because they are light they will end up streets away.
