Has anyone else noticed that the new posts don't seem to appear as quickly as they did before the forum change?

They do for me! Usually a slow ping time (page loading) is due to your computer or server rather than the site. This could indicate that you have an overload of cookies. Have you cleared out your cookies?

It's impossible for us to not have cookies! Everything you do, every site you visit and every page you click on puts cookies on your computer. It's what makes the internet work for us, remembers our bookmarks or favourites and our passwords. An hour's browsing on GC could load you a bagful of cookies!

You could also hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete and see what you have running on your computer. Sometimes we get stuff called malware which are sneaky little bits of programming we unknowingly upload when we visit certain sites like online shops and such. They run whilst we're online and 'report back' to base telling their creators what kind of sites we look at, what our activities are and all sorts of stuff. This isn't like a virus and often they are necessary cookies that also make the internet work for us. But if you get two or three all running at once, it can make your computer run awfully slow. So if you click on the Performance tab and see that teh CPU is running at 90-100% when you're not doing anything much like watching a video or listening to music, then you know you've quite probably got some malware or spyware.

You could also click on the Process tab and then on the column heading Mem Usage until you get the highest user one at the top. Then you can see what's using up most of your computer's capacity. But when you scan down the list, you can see there is lots of other stuff running as well, some of it ,might be malware or spyware. I can see a couple in my list! :WINK1:

    Hi Daisees,
I posted a thread in Edible Gardening at 8.20pm, although the post is there it's not shown on the title Edible gardening. This one to you I am posting at 9.25pm.
I've sorted the cookie situation, so is it me or something else that's going on. Help please!
