Fair to say, much of our learning comes from studying what others have recorded, written about. Thanks to today's computer technology, rather than making notations such as lists, calenders, info about planting/growing etc. It is now possible to, scan or copy printed information and present it in a PDF format.
Scanning, copying and presenting onother's work requires due accreditation to the original author. May I ask. Is such a practice allowed here on Gardeners Corner.

Good morning @Mike Allen the team have had a look at this in the office and it is indeed possible for members to attach PDF files to any post; they will not show with the PDF icon on most PC's due to the way that they are hosted, but others will be able to download and use them none the less. As you rightly point out, it is important that anyone doing so must comply
with all relevant copyright laws (which is also referred to in Rule 18 of the forum rules)

      18. COPYRIGHT articles subject to copyright may be quoted with an acknowledgement of the originator.

I understand that putting content in the form of pdf attachments to posts will prevent a Xenforo search from finding anything in them, but some accompanying key words in the post might help overcome this.

A Google site search should find stuff in a pdf attachment as their bots are supposed to crawl them.
