I did a ph test last night on the soil which I am going to use as a veg patch this summer. It came out Ph7 which is neutral and apparently good for most things except potatoes which need around 6.0. So I'm going to knock up a wooden bed separately from everything else, but I was wondering shall I buy some soil to put in to it and if so what kind?

    Hi Buttercup,
I've grown potatoes for many years in soil with a neutral pH; just add some good old fashioned well rotted manure and I'm sure you'll get a decent crop.
