Preventing Potbound

I know I ran something similar last year but putting this up as a reminder.

If you grow a plant in a see thru container, when the root tips hit the sides, the light kills the tip and more roots are sent out from the main one.

This builds up a fiberous root system, using all the nutrients in the compost instead of roots going round and round the bottom of the pot in search of it.

 

Both plants were potted on at the same time, the one on the left being in the see thru pot.

 

Zig the pot on the left was bigger???
Both plants look pretty yellow??

I think I know which root system I would buy.
