Well, looks like i've been robbed.

Paid for some twinwall sheets back in January, got fobbed off by e mail, "we'll contact you when its in stock"

And despite demanding an immediate refund, got neither goods nor money back:DOH:

The emails are now bouncing & can't find their website anymore.

The bank said I can't get the money back as I paid by debit card instead of credit card.

Looks like they've taken me to the cleaners.

Should have looked at Martin Lewis's site first.:cry3:

Damn shame there Ziggy, tis somethin I worry about when buying online but did read it on Martin's site (MSE.com) to use credit card for payment as can get money returned.

Does anyone know of somewhere you can check a site's credibility at all?

That costs money, i've just subscribed to a package from the bank where I can credit check another company before and during business, but the best thing is to google the trading name followed by complaints.

Wish i'd done it for this one.

Will check it out with police as i'm sure its theft or fraud, but if they've gone into administration then theres not much chance of getting the dosh back.

Sorry to hear about your problem, Ziggy. Seems to be bit strange if the answer is to buy plastic with plastic.:heehee:

Sorry to hear that Ziggy, it's not fair the bank won't refund you for non-existant goods. I order a lot of stuff on-line and never think to check MSE first, I think you have been very unlucky there. Where are they based? we could form an angry mob and go and sort them out with spades and pitch forks

        me too

I've never understood why Credit Card was protected, and Debit Card had no protection. Long & Short is that I only use Credit Card for online purchases, and I expect the credit card company to sort it out if something goes wrong (and, to be fair, they always have done, and have to, regularly, about once-a-year)

And our very own Chopper :thumb:

Mr Chopper would cost a lot more than the debt. Would be a result though :love30:

I invented the Debit card, never got a penny from it though.

Was just told, " Don't be so stupid, how can we make any money from that"

            Been ther. Done that.

            Getting the decision is easy.
            Getting the cash is NOT.

It used to cost £50 ish for the court. £50ish for the bailiff. More for other options.
The costs are now well into 3 figures for each step.

When they don't respond to the court you're stuffed.
If you send in the Bailliffs they can refuse access - and they know it
If you are HMRC or the Council - thats a different story - dustifiable force can be used.

If it's worth it, use the heavy mob (Debt collectors). They take up to 50% - but think of the satisfaction of the perpetrator NO LONGER having your dosh.
Half a cake is better than none, and it probably works out cheaper than the Small Claims route as well

Although if the Small Claims Court works out for you (and I agree with your points) then you get all your costs, including bailiffs fees, back, including interest ...

If it doesn't work out they have a County Court judgement against them, which may reduce their ability to screw other people over.
