    Hi there,

How would you recommend I give this beech tree some shape? And at what time of year can I do this?

    Cheers,
    Barra

I like it as it is. :) The problem with pruning something like this usually has and end result of being ball shaped and I feel that takes away it's natural look. If you feel the need to prune I'd take a small amount off the longest branches and leave the rest.

The best time to prune is late winter or early spring when the tree is dormant (without leaves).
