Hi all, very new to gardening so bear with me.

I've read the info at the top of the forum and it suggest pruning in March.

    However.

I've recently taken over looking after a garden ( for an elderly friend), and some of the roses have not been pruned for years, some are 6 foot in height ( from stem to roses), can i or should i prune these now in the hope of them returning to full blossom next year.

    Thanks in advance.

Good morning Esdel and welcome,There is a slight difference in Rose Hygiene(Tidying) and Pruning,if you want to just tidy them up now that would be OK and then Prune them in March:) I usually tidy mine up in October so to prevent wind rock over the Winter,You say they are 6ft high I would take them down to 4ft now and then hard prune in Feb/March,this is only what I would do,if faced with the same situation:)
