Acquired a preformed pond off Gumtree for a bargain price - about 4 x 3 for goldfish only - and hope to develop a bog garden and beach to its sides over coming weeks/months

    I know where its going

And I have my "ideas" of how to put it in

Please can any one point me to threads or your thoughts to confirm my ideas so I can get it right first time

Gosh ... help please (sorry sound amateurish) !! :dunno:

    Cheers

    To add ..

Do I dig the hole well too big and then fill in
I know it has to bed on sand - what type is best? Builders, sharp ...?
Sand up the sides as well - or will dirt do ...?
Sorry - one last question ... I am going to put "stones" round it (not slabs) - should the lip of the pool be say three inches below ground/grass level so they bed in better and do not roll into they water (that's what I thought any way)
And another one - how long does the water from the tap stand before I can add fish (will I need a pond medium or let nature takes its course) - and then when can I add aquatic plants

    Cheers

    :ThankYou:

How did it go? I've only got experience with the non-preformed types. Pics please!

IMG_20130603_210411_843.jpg 20130602_171429.jpg It needs to mature a bit
The cost :: £20.00 2nd hand pre formed pool
£15.00 couple of marginal plants and fish
Everthing else was from around my garden (and a couple of froggies) - the wifes pleased, that the main thing ...
Should be starting a bog garden the week end ...
