Nick, with heavy work like that, go slow and steady. You don`t have to get it all done in one go, especially when you have such medical problems.:nono: It`s no good getting the greenhouse up only to find you`ve screwed your health and can`t use it.:( Be patient and it wll be well worthwhile.:hapfeet::hapfeet::yahoo:

Good work Nick. I agree with Dai's sentiments, there is no big rush. You won't be able to sow much until March anyway.

Wrong time & more to come?

                      Nick,
We've not spoken before and what im going to say may not be what you want to hear, But it's worth reading anyway.

First thing is that this time of the year is "Not" the time to be putting greenhouse's up, we've the winds to come freezing conditions and if you do sow /plant anything between now and late april, early may you'll have to provide night heat at the least.

You're frame & glass (if your using glass) needs to settle and with freezing conditions "iced up glass and frame" will add to all this lot settling down in the wrong way, "weight thats not needed "

Why not clear the site and give your self a chance "health wise" and put the greenhouse up in the spring when you can enjoy the task and your hands wont be frozen?

Ive put 3 greenhouses up in my time (one 2 years ago here ) and take a word of advice, spring and summer time is both best for you and for a job well done.

You need one full day for the frame, and once the glass is going in you need a calm day "little or no wind" and all the glass needs to go in,
(just incase the wind picks up over night) if you've any glass not in place the chances are the wind will find the missing gaps and cause damage.

At least when the weathers warmer and the day light is longer in to the evening you can have more time to finish each stage.

I hope you take this advice as its given "with you and your health in mind.

                      Regards Moonraker.

Sorry Moonraker, I put my greenhouse up in February and there's no problems with it.

You'll be okay Folly Mon, just take it a step at a time. I have health issues as well and I've learnt to pace myself. :)

                          Hi Nick
from my limited experience with Greenhouses I think there are 3 distinct projects.

                          1. Prepare the base.
                          2. Assemble the Frame.
                          3. Install the Glass.

There's no rule that says it all has to be done at once.

Try doing 1 stage per weekend. Have a breather between stages.

As others have already said, there is plenty of time before you will be starting seeds. No need to rush into it. :coffee:

                            HI,
But are you in good health?
And is your house on a hill?

And if he's going to put a solid base down? concrete wont set solid in freezing conditions,

Why beat yourself up over getting the job done in the winter anyway?:nono:
