I have grown radishes in full sun and light shade both in pots and grow-bags this summer. They've grown quickly and put on leaves readily. But the stems don't plump up and there is no edible bulb to harvest and eat. Advice please for next summer.

Sounds like they bolted. Try growing them either side of the warmest time of year. And maybe choose a variety that is claimed to resist bolting.

Also, I wouldn't call it a complete failure even if they do bolt. The leaves are edible and nice in salads, and if they run to seed, you can eat the pods.

Could be a case of too much nitrogen.

If you are growing your radish in pots and grow bags but getting nothing from them to harvest it might be due to a lack of water especially if you get a lot of sun where you are growing them.

If you grow them in the same containers and pots next year it might be a good idea to use a good fresh lot of compost that should have enough nutrients in it to help feed them but the main ingredient has to be water.
