is the bed going on top of a soil area?
is it next to a wall?
    is it a separate area?

i THINK YOU MAY HAVE BETTER RESULTS WITH ALL DIFFERENT TYPES OF POTS/CONTAINERS.
YOU CAN GET SOME FAIRLY GOOD SIZE THINGS FROM RECLAIMATION YARDS ETC..
IN THEORY ALL YOU ARE DOING IS CREATING A LARGE CONTAINER.
