Red areas on cherry tree

    Hi guy's this might be nothing to worry about I hope,my new cherry tree has red blisters around the base of the leaves,my husband seems to think they are cherries but fruit does not grow before flowers usually,i have attached a few pics any help will be most appreciated thanks.
