Redcurrants .......... What can I do with them ?

    I have at last got redcurrants this year (been waiting 2 years :rolleyes: ).

    What can I do with them ?

    Mix them with other red fruits and make a summer pudding. Considering it's only bread, fruit and some sugar it tastes absolutely divine. The only downside is you have to prepare it 24 hours before you eat it, but the final result is worth every minute :cool:

    or....put them in a bowl with raspberries & blackberries, then sprinkle them with icing sugar and cream/ice-cream..mmmmm!

    Here you go:

    So, if you burn yourself making jam.... ;)

    [​IMG] Redcurrent jelly to go with pork etc, DELICIOUS!! A bit fidley but well worth it. :D

    Or beef, or chicken, or anything else you fancy! Even on bread and butter, or a freshly baked scone...

    Yes getting the currants of the stem is always the fun bit isn't it!

    :( I often get given the "topping & tailing" side of the job & I HATE that bit. :mad: Love the end result though. :D :D

    Or just use a folk and strip them off in a bowl...it's quite fast, specially if you eat about half, while you do it, lol.
