Been to Reighton a few times and each time it is well worth it, even to travel from as far away as York which is some 40 miles.. (Note I am just up the road from Reighton about 10 miles but would still travel 40.)

The choice is brilliant and very, very cheap for quality, healthy plants. They do everything from daisies to dracunculus at anywhere between a quarter and a tenth of the price of my local, so-called, garden centre. In fact it was rumored that the garden centre bought most of their stock there, drove it 10 miles put up the price by a factor of several and sold it on.

At Reighton there is an acreage at the back of the nursery which is well worth a visit. I am into exotics and even they are represented in the huge 50 pence section if they are hardy. I bought one palm for £1 which the g. centre were selling for £8. The glass houses are my delight, stuffed with palms, ferns, cannas etc.

The only drawback is that if you want advice you can rarely find a member of staff. And many of the staff only know their own area. The people on the tills are not very knowledgeable. Still that is also true of my g. centre which also has the habit of pricing things up then adding 17.5% VAT when you get to the till with no signs warning you. At least at Reighton you pay the marked price.

So if you are ever visiting East or North Yorkshire visit Reighton. It's on the Scarborough to Bridlington coast road. :D :D
