    Hi everyone,

Great idea for a forum, hopefully I will gain lots of experience over the coming months from you guys!

I am considering removing a few shrubs/trees from one of my borders. My intention was to cut them doen and treat the roots with ammonium suplhamate. I am not sure ehat damage I may do (if any) after applying this as I want to plant quite quickly afterwards.

    Any tips?

    Many thanks [IMG]

If you can't get the roots out then this is a good idea. Ammonium sulphate in granular form (trade name Deep Root) will do the job but be careful only to apply it to the cut surface and then cover with a plastic carrier bag to keep the rain off.
