I was visiting a garden yesterday and in a shady woodland area was a big patch of something that looked like a flowering bulb. It had no flowers at the moment and just some wispy fronds that looked like grass. It was also actually growing from rhizomes and there was a big pile which the gardens had weeded out to stop it spreading. It took a couple home. What is it? Is it worth planting?

I have a photo and have just resized it. I still can't get it to insert here and I just can't REMEMBER the whole palaver you have to go through to get an image up on this site. I have the whole trouble EVERY SINGLE TiME. So here is an external link:

@Berberis Artista can't make out much on the picture. A clear picture of the rhizomes would help.
If the gardeners there are weeding it out to prevent spread I would think twice about letting it loose in my garden.
    It's not woodrush is it?

I think they are just being a bit fussy about the shape of their bed. I am desperate for easy perennials for my garden. It does look like Woodrush. Shame those flowers are not a bit bigger.

This is the what I took:

    Hmm! Must need new glasses.
Searched very carefully...cannot see any flowers...or seed heads.
