rhubarb

    sorry! not really a gardening question. I have been reading some other topics and one mentions stewed rhubarb. How do you stew rhubarb or any other recipes anyone can tell me. I would be very grateful.

    Just had some at tea time. [​IMG]

    Wash the rhubarb and chop into chunks about one inch long. Put the rhubarb chunks in a pan and sprinkle with sugar. Heat gently with lid on until the sugar melts. Continue on a low heat until the rhubarb is soft.

    Remove from heat and scoff.

    We often cook ours with stawberries or apples - makes for a lovely sweet desert.

    When cold it mixes nicely with Banana takes the sharpness off,Do cook it gently or it will go to mush, in fact I just bring it to the boil and remove the pan put a lid on and leave it :D :D
