Mine too, a very influential band and I thought Marty's songs were better than Slick's or Kantner's (who we lost recently as well).

I agree @strongylodon a great loss.. I only put Grace Slick up as everyone knows that song, but JA were a huge favourite of mine along with Its a Beautiful Day as well..

          That's sad news. RIP
Jefferson Airplane were before my time but they are still one of my favourites. Time to dust off Surrealistic Pillow. In the meantime, if this works correctly, here's one of his contributions to that album - Plastic Fantastic Lover...........

EDIT - it almost works, there's a few seconds of White Rabbit to start with.

I only saw them once, at the Bath Festival around 1970. Casady and Kaukonen did a Hot Tuna set as well.

Sad news. Not a band I followed, but surprising that I’m familiar with a fair few of their tunes. I bought the ‘Woodstock’ album when it was released, and always liked this tune...

Did someone mention ‘It’s A Beautiful Day’? Not one bad tune on the self-titled album, imo. Here’s one of the better known tunes...
