rose berries

rose berries - is this the name of the orange/red ball shape berries which contain the seeds? -: which is the rose that looks better with the berries left on and do you normally leave the berries on the roses?

 

They are called hips Mira. Most people leave them on as they provide color over winter.

 

Just had a look on Google to be sure and you can make tea, jelly, and syrup from them which is high in vitamin C. It is supposed to taste quite nice too. Someone will probably come along who has done this.

 

When this Adam was a lad we had Rosehip Syrup from the fledgling National Health Service, as a vitamin C suppliment, also NHS Orange juice.
