Runner beans,infestation.

    Morning all Bob flemming here, Some of my runner beans have large amounts of black flys/insects on them,I have started to spray with Derris (i think thats the name) but they are still there,are these flys going to ruin my crop or am i being over worried,?:confused:

    If you have lots of them they will ruin your crop :mad:, so you need to do something. When you spray make sure you get underneath the leaves, the little blighters like it under there.

    You may have got them all. They might just be dead but sticking to the plants. Have a close look. Then you can use your hose to wash them off.

    I'm keeping a close eye on my runners because the field behind us has broad beans and they are covered in blackfly :eek:

    I don't use any chemicals but just hose them off but that method means checking them every day.
