Hi all, :) as you can see from the photos my salix flamingo is not in good shape. It has some new shoots appearing, I’ve given it lots of water. Was bought last year, a grafted tree. I’ve not had one before and wondering how I can make this look healthy again? Is it the heat that could be doing this? I’m an amateur sorry any suggestions :please: D50F8912-359B-41AE-AD85-220270E58CD0.jpeg 963D46DF-B0C8-42DE-9BF0-46F678C0EBF5.jpeg

Hi, there are chemicals in most leaves that block UV rays but I'm sure I read that it's lacking in white/pale leaves. That's why they burn easily. Can you rig up some temporary shade to get it through the summer? Then it might be worth looking for a spot in shade and move it once it's dormant.

As noisette said some form of shade would help. As it was planted last year it's still settling in. If you cannot move it to a shady spot then put some horticultural fleece or an old fashioned net curtain over it until the weather cools down a bit.
It would help if you said whereabouts in the country you are.

Hi and thank you both if you for your reply :spinning:
I do have some horticultural fleece so I will use that.
    Should I water daily?
I live in the east of England.
