I want some more plants for my back wall.
It is quite a damp area, and prone to slugs and snails.. So something resistant and hardy is quite important.

Been looking at Salvia's, as i love purple, but i quite like the white leafed ones - makes a nice contrast.
But i have seen the lovely blue uligninosa bog sage.

Anyone point me in a the direction of a Salvia that will like the damp area, hardy, and will survive slugs and snails?

I wouldnt ness. say it's boggy.. But dark and shady.
All the soil lately has been dried out with the wind and sunshine here.
But it is against a wall. (Not sure if that makes any difference!)

You're probably right though. They probably will get quite damp over winter..

Just bit tired of the fuchsia's,penestemons and evening primrose only against the area (theres also fox glove too but its past its season now).

    Hi Elizabeth
Slugs and snails are a real pain - a snail got into my greenhouse and nibbled all my seedlings - first I blamed the squirrel - then decided it was a mouse and then I caught the culprit - a Snail.
Anyway, the following salvias are ones that the slugs don't seem to like -
Salvia Officinialis - Nemerosa - Suberba and Purpurascens.
Hardy salvias are happy in both moist soil and dry soil.
Good luck I hope you find what you are looking for.
