A couple of people have asked to see what it is like round here, so, the first 3 are the ones not eligible for the photo comp. 'cos they were taken Oct. 27th & 28th.

Oh, and apologies if you don't have broadband. Go make a nice cup of tea (or litre of martini cocktail) whilst they are arriving. :D

Scarborough's South Bay from the old swimming pool.

St, Mary's Church. Anne Bronte's burial place. And unlike me it's not always in a fog.

The River Ouse at York. The bit that tourists don't see.

And the bit that they do see.

Castle Hill, Scarborough from the North Bay, with one of those rides that the Council was never going to spoil the area with in the foreground.

Scarborough Council shows its imaginative planning again with the siting of the kiddies playground.

Lovely place, John. Fog ... almost unheard of here, in Algarve at least, but have been through nightmarish fog up North in the mountains around Guarda where you couldn't see the nose of the car on windy narrow roads.

Your bridge would have been nice in the bridges comp recently. [IMG]

Yes, like the imaginative planning. :D

OK Dee. Here's a picture of our most luxurious pub. It's so posh it won't serve martini cocktails by the litre, only the pint.

It's the one in front of you. To the right is the smoking area.

Burniston barracks is long gone Walnut. It's been developed and is now what is called 'affordable' housing. I'll try to get a photo sometime but I don't use North Cliff Golf Club and that is all there is up there.

Went out today (actually, that's as daft as some of the other things I say, I go out every day) but I thought that Flamborough Head looked pretty good so here you are: (It's the one you can't actually see in the distance, but it is 15 miles away).

Flamborough Head from Cayton Bay Scarborough.

And, just for Dee, our other pub, The down-market one, in case she wants a gallon of martini cocktail when she comes on her pub crawl in March:

At the time I took this it was closed. [IMG] :D
