    Hi,

I have made up a large container and filled it up with clay soil which can get pretty moist.
I am after a shrub / climber / tree that will grow quite quickly to provide privacy.
It must be able to tolerate wet soild conditions. It can be deciduous as we don't use the garden during the winter.

    Any tips would be appreciated.

    Thanks

You'd be better off putting some decent compost into the pot, rather than clay soil. Then your choices of plant that can go in the pot are greater.

As for a plant, how about Fatsia Japonica. If the pot is big enough, it will thrive - big, palmette like leaves, everygreen, hardy and blooms in winter. Fast growing too.
