There's been some on the garage window for years, but polycarbonate flaps about a bit in the wind.

You stood up a bit quick and banged your head Ziggy? On FOUR separate occasions?:heehee:

"Gaps around the joins" - is that where the poly-carb meets the frame? I think the best answer to that might be some silicon [or perhaps a rubberised adhesive] out of one of those tubes that you put in a gun-like arrangement.

But ... I'm not a fan of poly-card. Light weight, so manufactures can use lighter-weight frames, the wind over the surface exerts negative pressure, same way air over an aircraft wing "lifts" it, and the sheets "pop out".

Second hand real-glass greenhouses on eBay are lots cheaper than new Poly-card ones (get an old one, they used to seriously over-engineer the frames ...) and they are likely to have more vents too

The keys to keeping a greenhouse cool in summer are:

        1) Get a big greenhouse - much easier to keep cool than a small one
        2) Plenty of roof vents, and preferably some louvres low down - open those and get a convection current going. Much kinder to the plants than flinging the door open to create a howling draught, which will cause transpiration stress to the plants ...

Personally I would orientate it to have the door away from the prevailing wind (so when you do open it you aren't, usually, getting the fan-assist of the prevailing wind).

All that si a bit late now if you are just trying to make the one you have air-tight! But look out for a real-glass one on eBay - you might well sell yours for more than the replacement costs Ker-ching!

What ever tape you get make sure the surface is really clean a grease free and a warm day will help lots.

I use silicon on polycarb also.

But get the low modulus one, neutral cure, it sticks better to plastics and allows more movement than the more usual kind, which is better with hard ceramics.

Not saying buy it from here just an idea.

Yes, I use silicon on mine too. Don't apply it during this sub-zero cold snap though, also the gaps must be bone dry and reasonably clean to get a good bond.

Cheapest place to get silicon I've found is toolstation (this is the low modulus, neutral cure stuff):
Toolstation > Adhesives & Sealants > Sealants > Neutral Cure LMN Silicone 310ml

They deliver for an order of £10 or more, but I just call into my local one, they are in most towns now. If no toolstation near you then screwfix is the next cheapest
