Do the long winter nights effect you? Personally they depress me. If I could hibernate I would. From the end of November till the beginning of March.
Do I need to see a doctor?

They used to, even a dull wet summers day used to pee me off. Not now though, although I hate, and I mean HATE!! Winter, the cold winds and wet, it's something that I've accepted to be. It was absolutely persisting it down before, blowing a hoolie, but I was outside repotting another bamboo!! Oh, happee dayz :dancy:  :blue thumb:  :snork:

I have suffered from this for years and last year I started to take a vitamin D supplement about time time and it definitely helped. Thanks for the reminder, I need to stock up and start taking it again.

I hope it works for you x

I have a theory. I think everybody suffers with S.A.D. I think some people suffer with it more than others. Us office working sorts get it a bit bad, because for about 4 months of year we're stuck indoors for every hour of daylight 5 days a week.

I get quite depressed during the months of gloom. If its normal gloom doom type S.A.D. I think there's more you can do for yourself than any doctor can do. For me, its all about getting fresh air and exercise even if I really don't feel like it, and going for a walk outside on my lunch break even if it would be easier and more convenient to stay in. Go easy on the 'comfort food' too. It just makes you feel bloated and lethargic and generally worse. Of course I'm being a hypocrite because I don't always practice what I preach.

Ah, not bothered about the cold or weather Al, just the darkness. In one way I'm glad I wasn't born in Iceland or some other dark god forsaken place!

Doesn't Iceland suffer the most suicides due to the oppressive weather? And I think it's one of the most expensive places on the planet too!!!

I've heard something like that, but I thought it was Norway or Denmark. In any case, in one of those countries, apparently the sale of alcohol is very tightly controlled and heavily taxed, because otherwise people would just be hammered for 6 months of the year.

Sod the Vit D, red wine sounds like much more fun, for medicinal purposes only, of course :ccheers:

That's the thing robajobs, I don't drink, we'll, very rarely now. I can put my hand on heart and say I have a glass of wine a month, if that. Just lost the taste for it!!! I do like prosecco and champagne though. Again, I do enjoy a glass when I do, but its very rare. Rather have a fruit juice or a coffee now!!
