Hi everyone. Looking for ideas on what's best to sow now.

My heated propagators died and I couldn't find any in the garden centres here so I bought heat mats. They all died last spring so I've just ordered some heated propagators with grow lights online.

I know about starting chillies and tomatoes early but is there anything else I can try now or a bit later on. I will have 160 cells available and do not need them all for chillies.

Thanks @infradig We're 20km inland from the Atlantic so generally get a few light frosts that don't last long. Summer highs can be around 40C for days and even weeks now. Our first year here - Oct 2016 to Dec 17 - saw a 14 month drought and then the first snowfall for 9 years (1cm) but this last year has been exceptionally wet.

I usually plant broad beans shallots, garlic and onions direct in December but it's been too wet this year so they'll have to wait a bit.

I tried green beans once but it was a drought year and they didn't even germinate so I haven't bothered since but peas for shoots are a good idea and I can get a head start with assorted salads and sunflowers as I have a polytunnel for after care.
