Yes its the big sowing month for me also, I've chitted the sweetcorn earlier this year, not up yet.
Tomatoes for outside growing, some zinnias, castor oil plants, a lot of my plants are grown each year from divisions these days, so not as much seed sowing as I used to.

I've just sown 2 x 24 cell trays of lavender Munstead Dwarf after seeing the prices in a GC yesterday - 4€99 for a 12cm pot! I need loads of them to plant round my hen house and the pen.

I sowed curry leaf tree, Sichuan pepper and Sri Lankan gooseberry and few tomatoes and chillies and 25 cosmos in the propagator last week and I need them all to pop before I can sow anything else that needs heat or at least not to get cold at night.

The next things I sow will be curcubits and some more annual and perennial flowers but not today as I'm going to sew a frock.

Big month here too. Just got the runner beans and courgettes started, and a tray of basil that'll probably take forever as usual. Trying a few different squash varieties this year so we'll see how that goes.

            I saw those seeds too!!:heehee:

Not sown this month but germinating now, Solanum laciniatum. The seeds were collected from a mature plant at Hammersmith Broadway last autumn and germination is better than I was expecting. They were down in February as I read somewhere that some exposure to cold improves germination.

My cosmos are popping but none of the exotics yet.Haven't ever met a kangaroo apple @longk but I like the colour of their flowers. Are the fruits edible or just decorative?

My cosmos are popping but none of the exotics yet. I shall have to sow things that don't need bottom heat so maybe some pink onions and cavolo nero tomorrow after the weekly shop.

Supposedly edible but I've never tried them. Pretty hardy here in London, the two that I see regularly have remained in leaf this winter.

I have sown some Purple Sprouting Broccoli seeds which have grown well on a sunny windowsill . They are now 3-4 inches tall with several sets of leaves. Can I transplant to small pots, and then leave outside in a sheltered position to grow on? My windowsill is getting rather full now!

Yes @Eddie105, they're pretty hardy and will stand all winter once mature but just keep an eye out for frosts being forecast and be prepared to protect them for a couple of weeks till hardened off.

The site that sold me the new heated propagotor has the same model on sale at half price now. How can I resist?

It would be a brave person who first tries those I would guess, I have overwintered them here unprotected but that was when we were getting more reliable winters, these days we seem to have a mild winter in general with a week or two of hard frost thrown in that kills all the borderline stuff.

Thank you. They are now on their new pots outside unless cold weather is predicted.
Who can resist a half price bargain!

Tbh, there are so many poisonous solanums, I'd be a bit worried! Tomato and tomatillo are easy enough to recognise, but the others...

Potatoes and aubergine too @CarolineL so plenty are safe if you eat the right parts. No aubergines for me tho. Don't like the texture.
